There is a market four days a week in Skipton with regular farmers markets and craft fairs thoughout the area.

After a busy day, visit one of the many traditional pubs to sample local real ale and home cooked food made from local produce.

Location, Location, Location...

Surrounded by glorious Yorkshire Dales and Lancashire countryside, access is easy from all directions, making Fernside holiday cottage & bed and breakfast the perfect base for holiday makers, walkers and special occasions alike.

Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is some 6 miles north east of Fernside. For a great place to visit whilst on holiday, look no further than this charming medieval town. Skipton, steeped in history, has a whole host of attractions to enjoy all year round including a castle, a museum, canal boat trips and a market four days a week.

Along with Skipton, Fernside is only a short drive from interesting market towns such as Grassington, Harrogate, Ingleton, Bentham, Kirby Lonsdale and Settle.

To the west of Fernside is Clitheroe (11 miles) crowned by its own historic Castle and enjoying a privileged situation on the doorstep of the Forest of Bowland.

The tow path of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal is easily accessible at nearby Greenberfield Locks and we're ideally situated for walkers on the Pennine Way.

Throughout the year Yorkshire and Lancashire play host to many special events from Skipton's annual Sheep Day to Christmas markets, agricultural shows and music festivals.

We have many excellent restaurants and traditonal pubs nearby and even a local brewery.
