Terms & Conditions for Fernside B & B Accomodation
- Deposit - A non refundable deposit equivalent to the cost of one night's accommodation is required to secure your reservation.
- Payment - Payment can be made by debit/credit card, cheque (payable to 'Fernside Bed and Breakfast') or cash. Using a debit card is free. To use a credit card incurs a 3% surcharge for the transaction.
- Balance - The balance is payable on the morning of your departure from our accommodation.
- Arrival times - From 3pm-6pm. Guests must phone prior to their stay to arrange arrival outside these times.
- Departure time - Please vacate our accommodation before 10am
- Cancellations - Guests are reminded that a booking is a legally binding contract. In the event of a cancellation the deposit is not refundable. I will make all reasonable efforts to re-let the accommodation, but if this fails, guests are respectfully reminded that they are liable for the costs incurred. I recommend you insure against the possibility of cancellation. Where the guest gives debit/credit card details in order to make payment of a deposit, it is agreed between the parties that in the event of cancellation the Bed and breakfast may debit the guest's credit card with the full amount of the cancellation. The Bed and breakfast reserves the right to cancel a booking forthwith without liability on its part in the event of damage or destruction to the Bed and breakfast by fire or other causes, any shortage of labour or food supplies, or any other cause beyond the control of the Bed and breakfast which shall prevent it from performing its obligations in connection with any booking. In such an event the Bed and breakfast will refund the deposit in full.
- Special Needs - When enquiring about accommodation, please tell me of any special needs or requirements you may have so that I may advise on the suitability of the rooms I offer.
- Breakages and spillages - Please report all breakages to me. If you leave Fernside without reporting breakages, then I reserve the right to invoice a guest following departure. Drink spillages such as tea or red wine must also be reported and a £40 cleaning charge will be applied in order to clean the carpet or furnishings.
- Children - Children over the age of 12 are welcomed.
- Pets - Sorry, Fernside bed and breakfast is unable to accommodate pets.
- Smoking - For the comfort of all our guests Fernside is a strictly non smoking bed and breakfast.
- Mount View and Garden View en-suite facilities are fitted with Saniflo toilets. My guests using these facilities are kindly requested to adhere to the following information. Only the disposal of toilet paper and natural waste matter / waste water can be disposed of in these type of toilets. Guests are politely requested to use the bags provided for all other waste types, e.g. cotton wool, cotton wool buds, sanitary towels, toilet wipes, food, plastic objects and place in the bin provided. If other materials are put down the Saniflo toilet, it will inevitably cause a blockage in the Saniflo system which will incur a cost of £90 to have it cleared by a Saniflo Engineer. In the event of this happening, I reserve the right to charge any fees incurred by me to your room account.
Terms & Conditions for Fernside Holiday Cottage
- Deposit - A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the cost of the cottage rental is required at the time of booking.
- Payment - Payment can be made by debit/credit card, cheque (payable to 'Fernside Cottage') or cash. Using a debit card is free. To use a credit card incurs a 3% surcharge for the transaction.
- Balance - The balance is payable in full 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday. In the event of payment not being received 6 weeks prior to the start date, the owner reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.
- Late bookings - For bookings made less than 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday, the total cost of your holiday is payable in full.
- Reservations - Reservations will only be complete once payment has been cleared and you have received confirmation from me.
- Arrival & departure - The cottage is available from 3pm on arrival day and I ask that you vacate by 10am on departure day to allow me time to prepare for my next arrivals.
- Cancellations - In the event of cancellation of your holiday, after the balance has been paid in full, I will make every effort to re-let the property, in which case the balance will be refunded and only the deposit retained. I strongly advise Holiday Cancellation Insurance is considered to avoid losses.
- Guests - The number of guests staying in the cottage must not exceed the numbers on the booking form and the maximum numbers for the cottage (4).
- Maintenance - The owner shall be allowed access at any reasonable time in order to carry out necessary maintenance.
- Breakages and spillages - Please report all breakages to me. If you leave Fernside without reporting breakages, then I reserve the right to invoice a guest following departure. Similarly if the cottage is left in an unsuitable condition, I reserve the right to charge for extra cleaning.
- On departure - I trust that my customers appreciate the hard work that has gone into providing them with holiday accommodation of a high standard and ask that the cottage is left in a clean & tidy condition at the end of your stay.
- Children - Children over the age of 12 are welcomed.
- Pets - Sorry, Fernside Cottage is unable to accommodate pets.
- Smoking - Fernside Cottage is strictly non-smoking.
